Kyle Reeder and Mark Evitts began playing music together in January 2000 after Kyle's cousin Josh introduced them. After a short introduction and a long jam session, the two musicians joined forces and began a musical journey that would last for several years (and a friendship that continues to this day).
Kyle and Mark performed at churches, local events, private functions, and music festivals as a duo and produced and recorded three CD projects. In 2000, they recorded their first CD, Home For Christmas, an inspiring collection of some of the most well known Christmas songs ever written. In 2002, they followed up with a mostly original bluegrass album titled, The Tale Of the Jester. It’s a modern, contemporary instrumental album performed with guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo, and it will lead you through a magical listening experience. In 2003, they recorded their third project titled, The Gospel Collection, which is a compilation of some of the most treasured songs of the faith along with two originals. Kyle’s soulful guitar and mandolin playing combined with the masterful fiddle of Mark is sure to be an inspiration. Their music has been described by their listeners as energetic, inspirational, and above all unique.
In 2006, Mark and his wife, Teri, moved to Ohio to pursue other opportunities. At that time, Mark joined a band called The Scarlet Kings and began touring across the country. Kyle and Mark continued to perform selective shows, but because of the distance it made it difficult for the two to continue their work as a duo. At that time, they decided it would be best to disband and pursue other avenues. Kyle began performing as a solo fingerstyle performer and Mark continued as a member of The Scarlet Kings. After a successful run with The Scarlet Kings, Mark and Teri moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Mark began performing at local venues and became quite popular as a country fiddler. After a short time in Nashville, the band leader for country music superstar Rodney Atkins heard about Mark and invited him to audition (along with several other fiddlers) for the open position in Rodney's band. After hearing Mark perform in the audition, Rodney's band chose him hands down. Currently, Mark is performing fiddle and guitar in Rodney's road band on stages all across the country.
